Hydration Obsession: The 7 Skin Method

Image
I am not into Korean drama. I am not into Korean music. I am not into Korean food. I just don't understand what the hype is all about. But I have to admit that I am into Korean skincare. I am always a fan of Japanese skincare. I just think that they suit my skin better than Western skincare. But, oh boy, Japanese stuffs can be so expensive sometimes. So when Korean skincare started to hit the worldwide market, and after I've tried a couple of them, I jumped into the bandwagon. I'm sold. My skincare arsenal does not consist of all Korean, though. There are still some Japanese and Western stuffs that I use. Anyway, two of my most favorite things in Korean skincare are First Essence (or sometimes called as First Serum) and Hydrating Toner. I find them most comfortable to use on my combination skin because they are hydrating, but only lightly so my skin does not feel tacky or oily. But they are not hydrating enough so I have to follow up with serum and emulsion, and cream a...

Product Review: Bio-Oil

Saya suka deskripsi sederhana dari webmd ini: Stretch marks happen when your body grows faster than your skin can keep up with. This causes the elastic fibers just under the surface of the skin to break, resulting in stretch marks. Jika kita google how to get rid of stretch marks, banyak sekali cara dan produk yang tersebar di Internet. Tapi jujur, saya belum menemukan satupun testimony jujur yang bisa saya percaya mengenai keberhasilan mengubah kulit lorek macan kembali ke kulit manusia. Apalagi webmd juga memberi peringatan kejam ini: Unfortunately, there’s no way to prevent stretc...

Soal Pupur

Image

Indulging myself with my own spa at home

Image
Because of last month's clinical spa which I am not really fancy of , why not try spa at home, right? Selain karena ada kompetisi Create Your Own Spa At Home yang diadakan oleh Sariayu Martha Tilaar dan Female Daily http://femaledaily.com/createyourownspa/ , scrub Wardah kesukaan saya juga sudah habis dan saya ingin coba-coba scrub lain. Maklum, wanita. Semua scrub ingin dicoba. Click for bigger picture. Sekali-kali ingin belanja offline supaya ingat lagi rasanya. (Will do another post on this online shopping addiction) Urutan pemakaian mari kita p...

Trying Spa at Amethyst Clinic

Image
Click for bigger picture So above is the advertisement that made me being one of the 259 people who bought the voucher. I bought the 3 times spa voucher because it's such a bargain, right? I also find that the reservation, which can be done through SMS, is very cnnvenient. They help me find a suitable time that match my 3-hour free time, which can be very difficult to find. So, let's see what they offer: a 3-hour complete spa massage body scrub body mask hair wash Now, what about my experience there? Was I satisfied and did I feel relaxed and pampered? Well, I have mixed feeling about this spa experience. For your information, I am not a spa avid. My experience of body treatment was only in a few traditional body treatment place or at times I have a beautician come to my house to give me body treatments. The Clinic Sadly, I did not have my camera with me, so let me just describe the clinic. Amethyst was a very clean doctor-feel clinic. It looked and smelled...

Promising a Reward for Myself

Image
So I got myself some beauty supplements from my last trip to Kuala Lumpur a couple of months ago. I meant to sell them back in Indonesia to get some profit :D Anyway, reading the brochures and actually having the supplements in my hands lured me to have them for myself. The thought of clear skin for an acne-prone wife is just too tempting, isn't it? If you have these problems, this beauty supplement is for you. Good job, tempting brochure! But I made it hard for myself. The supplements shall be a reward for me if I can finally realize my healthy diet resolution for a week: Freshly squeezed lemon added to warm water each morning Only fruit and/or milk until 10 am Strictly no krupuk (trying to avoid MSG here) Sambel should be only once a day  I got the idea of lemon juice and fruits for breakfast from Food Combining diet. Go google. The whole idea is very appealing, but I just cannot go beyond the breakfast. The menu for lunch and dinner are too frightenin...

My HG Facial Wash

Image
Because this is a blog belongs to an acne prone wife, I think it's about time I talk about acne :) I had to say goodbye to clear skin since the last year of senior high school. My acne started to run havoc on my face since I was around 17. Since then, I have tried to get rid of those bumps by getting drugstore products, seeing the doctor, going to skin clinic, etc. They sometimes got better, they sometimes got worse. But I would consider my acne mild. It's nothing a little powder cannot cover ;) Anyway, in these last couple of years, I have found an HG (holy grail) facial wash that has kept my acne at bay. May I present: Himalaya Herbals Neem & Turmeric Soap . Image is from the website Gently cleanses. Keeps skin soft & smooth. Fortified with Azadirachta indica (Neem) and Curcuma longa (Turmeric) that remove problem causing bacteria and protect your skin keeping it refreshed and healthy. It is not specifically designed for facial wash, but when I first bought it in Si...
